As part of our Read Across America Celebration Mrs. Phifer and Mrs. Hanley are working on teamwork and community building. One of the many activities that they did was plan a Friday afternoon of team building activities. Their afternoon started with a friendly Dr. Seuss puzzle building activity the students were split up into small groups containing both 1st and 2nd grade students. They were asked to introduce themselves and come up with strategies to solve the puzzle that they were presented with. When the groups completed the puzzle they switched to solve other Dr. Seuss puzzles.
The second activity was a friendly game of Tic-Tac-Toe, only with a twist. They used hula hoops as the game board. Students were once again split up into teams and competed against one another. Students were encouraged to cheer each other on and congratulate the other teams.
The afternoon ended with a friendly group picture and a snack.
FUN was had by all, including Coach Dell!
